Persistence is the key to learning anything new. It takes years of practice, and learning to master anything. We at Mighty Coders get the tools to our students to be more confident.
Unlike other coding classes, we throw our students into the deep end of the proverbial pool. We rely on classroom teaching, following a curriculum, and helping the students strengthen their concepts through exercises, pop quizzes and projects. Other schools stop way before we do. We take them to the finish line and make them feel more confident and independent.
As parents or guardians, we need your help to help your students feel more independent. Unlike other schools with programs that work only on their computers, we allow students to take home work, use their own devices, spend time during off hours and build things they feel like. Here are 5 simple tips that take little effort, however, go a long way in getting the most of Mighty Coders classes.
1. Create a Consistent Routine
Establishing a consistent routine helps children know what to expect and can make transitions smoother. Set regular times for homework, meals, and bedtime. A structured environment can help children feel secure and more focused.
2. Foster a Love for Learning
Ask them to show you what they learned, and what they found exciting. Ask probing questions on what they would find out if they did something differently.
3. Set Realistic Expectations
Set achievable goals for your child based on their abilities and interests. Encourage them to do their best without putting undue pressure on them. Praise their efforts rather than just their achievements to build their confidence.
4. Stay Involved in Their Education
Being involved shows your child that you value their education and can help identify areas where they might need additional support. Celebrate their successes and encourage curiosity by exploring topics they’re passionate about. Challenge them to build something. Our Code Mentors are always happy to help out and provides guidance to students when they try something new.
5. Teach Time Management
Help your child learn to manage their time effectively. Use tools like calendars or planners to schedule homework, activities, and free time. Teaching them to prioritize tasks can reduce stress and improve productivity.
